IIM-C bags R&D project from IT dept

IIM Calcutta (IIM-C) has bagged an R&D project on design and development of tools for nanometric regime from the department of IT in the Union communications ministry.

According to Prof Parthasarathi Dasgupta, who teaches management information systems (MIS) at IIM-C and is project chief investigator: The department of IT is sponsoring this two-year project, the cost of which is a little over Rs 28 lakh. The team will be designing and developing cost-effective methods, essentially special CAD (Computer Aided Design) tools, used for designing integrated circuit (IC) chips. The ultimate application would be in developing microprocessors and embedded systems.
