Eduventures reports that K-12 online education, a rapidly growing segment of the education market, is expected to grow 30% in 2007. According to the United States Department of Education, more than 25% of K-12 public schools offer e-learning. Schools use these online courses to meet demand for classes with low enrollment, solve student scheduling conflicts, meet the needs of students who cannot attend a traditional school for health or personal reasons and provide courses to students who need to complete or makeup credits to graduate.
