Institute of higher education for tribal children in Bhubaneshwar
Bearing in mind that tribals live in a world of their own cultural heritage, Bhubaneshwar-based Kalinga Institute of Social ScienceKISS), the largest tribal school in India, has designed a well-tailored curriculum for nearly 3,000 youngsters to avail decent residential schooling.
Mooted by Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) a deemed University in Orissa, KISS has young child-scholars from 40 different tribes of Orissa.
I was a labourer before coming to this school. My family was in a poor state. However, my life has changed after coming here. Here, I am learning computer and tailoring, said Budh Himran, a student.
