The amount of sexual material that children view is rising
DANGER ONLINE
The amount of sexual material that children view is rising. According to a research published in THES, a third of children now receive unwanted sexual content in e-mails and at least 4% have been asked for explicit photographs of themselves online. A recent Dutch report suggested that a quarter of boys have had a cyber-sexual experience, and 2% girls have performed a sexual act in front of a webcam. In addition, research by the London School of Economics (LSE) has found that such instances are increasingly coming from people familiar to users, rather than strangers.
