Scottish international scholarship programme
The Scottish international scholarship programme aims to encourage bright, talented and hard-working individuals to live, work and study in Scotland. It is funded by the Scottish executive and managed by the British Council.The programme is offering 22 scholarships for the academic year 2007-08 for courses at any Scottish higher education institution. The scholarship covers the tuition fees, return economy airfare and a living allowance
Requirements: Permanent resident of Peoples Republic of China (excluding Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) / India / South Africa / Australia / New Zealand / Singapore and in your home country at the time of application; between 25 and 35 years of age at the time of application, hold a first degree in a related subject from a recognised university; must have three to five years of relevant working experience; possess a good working level of English demonstrated by an IELTS test result of at least 6.5.You must not currently be working or studying in the UK, not receiving any other schol¬arships or award for 2007-08. The course must be a masters programme of not more than 12 months based in a Scottish institution during the academic year 2007/08. Priority will be given to courses in science and technology and the creative industries. Information on courses is available. Apply directly to Scottish institution (s) of your choice before applying for the scholarships.
To apply: Download the Scotland scholarship 2007 complete it. Application form is also available from the local British Council office. Please attach evidence of your application to a maximum of three Scottish institutions to your scholarship application form. Scholarship offer will be subject to obtaining a confirmed offer of admission from one of the three chosen institutions no later than May 31, 2007.
Submission: March 16, 2007. Applications should be made to the local British Council office.
