Minister on Latest Developments in EU-India Science Ties
Higher Education, Science and Research Minister Jure Zupan attended an EU-India science ministerial in New Delhi, where the parties signed a cooperation memorandum on Wednesday, 7 February in a bid to involve India into the EUs 7th Research Framework Programme.
Zupan told STA that the document signed today included Indias commitment to allocate EUR 5m a year for Indian scientists taking part in the research programme.
According to Zupan, both the EU and India are very keen to cooperate in science, while they believe the most potential lies in nanotechnology, biotechnology, environmental protection and the exploration of space.
