IGNOU to start special B.Com, M.Com for CA students
Indira Gandhi Open University, IGNOU, plans to soon launch a specialised B.Com. programme with majors in Accountancy and Finance for Chartered Accountancy (CA) students, who will be exempted from taking certain common subjects. The university and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) signed an agreement to this effect in Delhi. In addition, IGNOU will start a specialised M.Com programme for CA Final students as well as those who have completed it. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by Dr. T.P. Ghosh, Director of Studies, ICAI and Dalip Kumar Tetri, Registrar, IGNOU. Also present on the occasion was Sunil Talati, President, ICAI and Prof. VN. Rajasekharan Pillai, Vice-Chancellor, IGNOU, among others. Admission to these specialised B.Com and M.Com programmes will be-S gin in June 2007. Current CA students, too, can enrol for the synergised programmes.
