Educators in the UK are keen to use phones for lessons and are encouraging children to use mobile phones in schools for educational purposes. Though it has been acknowledged that there is no credible evidence of adverse health effects from microwave pulses, government advisory groups urge parents to be cautious, as children might be more vulnerable than adults.
Yet some schools and technology developers believe the potential benefits of using mobiles for learning and social development now outweigh their risks. Futurelab, an education technology research centre, has been developing cell phone software for physics and geography lessons and hopes to introduce them to a wide range of schools.
