Student art show, scholarship program set
The Atlantic City International Airport will honor the memory of a young artist by hosting a student art show and scholarship program in the airport ArtPort gallery in April.
Dozens of high school and college student artists will compete for a $450 college-level scholarship and a $250 high school-level scholarship. The scholarships will be awarded by the JAN-AI Scholarship Fund, which was created to honor Jennifer Cakert, who grew up in Ventnor and died in June 2006 at age 26.
The students art will be displayed during the entire month of April in the gallery in the security screening area of the airport. Scholarships will be awarded during a public open house at the gallery from 5:30 to 7 p.m. April 10.
