Journalism Fellowships offer a unique opportunity for promising young journalists from United National

United National Journalism Fellowships
The fellowships by the Dag Hammarskjold Scholarship Fund for journalists offer a unique opportunity for promising young journalists from Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe jyid. Latin America to see the United Nations at work and to report on its proceedings for news media in their home coun¬tries. The Dag Hammarskjold Fellowship Programme was established in 1961 in memory of the late secretary-general who was killed in an airplane crash while on a peace mission.

Requirements:The fellowship programme is open to professional radio, television and print journalists from Asia, Africa, Latin America and Eastern Europe who are interested in coming to New York to report on international affairs during the 62rd session of the United Nations General Assembly which starts in September. All four of the fellows selected will be young journalists, aged 25-35. The ten-week fellowship will begin in early September, just before the General Assembly session begins, and includes travel, accommodations and per diem expenses.

To apply: Fellowship criteria and guidelines, as well as downloadable application forms, are available. Original signed applications and sample work products will be required. An originally completed and signed copy of the application, along with all seven of the documentation requirements can be sent by postal or courier service to Secretary, Dag Hammerskjold Scholarship Fund, 132 East 43rd Street, No 457, New.
