Monmouth University Scholarship Ball An Evening In Old Shanghai Set For Saturday, April 28
Monmouth University celebrates the exotic beauty of An Evening in Old Shanghai, the 24th Annual Scholarship Ball, on Saturday, April 28 at 6:30 p.m. in Woodrow Wilson Hall; the magnificent 1920s American Beaux-Arts style mansion on the Universitys West Long Branch campus.
Ball chairwoman Barbara C. Rumsby, Oceanport, and her committee have dazzling plans for the gala, which is projected to raise $130,000 for student scholarships. The event will feature authentic Shanghai décor including a suzhou tea garden and indoor koi pond. Live auction items will include hard-to-get tickets to the Breeders Cup Gala and Concert in October; a luxury get-away in Vermont; The Ultimate Homecoming Tailgate Party, catered by The Windmill; a personal winetasting at Doherty House, the home of the Universitys president; and a private dinner for 20 in the Versailles Room, Wilson Hall.
The highlight of the evening will be the drawing for Destination: Hong Kong, a raffle for two first-class tickets to Hong Kong, via Continental Airlines, plus luxury accommodations for a seven day, six night stay, valued at $20,000. Only two hundred tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis until the night of the ball. You do not have to be present to win.
