IIMs yet to open their doors to Pak Students
Bangalore Pakistani students will have to wait little longer before they are welcomed by the elite Indian Institutes of Managements (IIMs).Several weeks after PM Man Mohan Singh assured Pakistani President PervezMushraf on allowing students form Pakistani to study at elite IIMs and IITs, none of the six IIMs have made any special provisions to admit students from across the border for the next academic session. All IIMs have sent out admission letters to shot listed candidates and will kick of the classes in the first week of July. Other IIM directors and chairpersons of admissions too echoed whatever Apte had to say. None of the IIMs have special entry points to admit Pakistani graduates, at least this year. And thats a reason for this.Timmings of the decision, IIM sources say, is the key reason for the delay.
