Unity In Diversity
Its not only the number of women student intake which has increased to 25% of the class, ISB-Hyderabad has witnessed the most interesting congregation of students for 2007-08 batch. The class comprises students who had been working executives from industries such as pharmaceuth cals, FMCG, healthcare, media, medicine, civil services, armed forces, manufacturing, education and research, advertising and a host of other areas. Compared to 41% of diverse background, this year 58% of the selected students are from the above-mentioned sectors. Meanwhile, there has been a 15% drop in the engineering students joining ISB. According to M Rammohan Rao, dean, ISB, Peer learning is a very important part of management education. We often simulate the real world in the classroom, where new situations are created and discussions with a diverse group lead to new perspectives. The experiences shared in the classroom add a lot of depth to the lessons taught by professors, and enriches the teaching over-all.
