Waking into Judy Fediniks third grade classroom at St. Annes Day School, its easy to think youve stepped into a postcard of a South Sea resort.

The colorful, un-classroom-like space is instantly comfortable, filled with lush tropical plants, grass mats, woven tapestries and rattan chairs, tables and much-too comfy wicker settees. Filled water bottles for students sit ready on a side table and light strains of jazz fill the air.

It would not be a surprise if a macaw suddenly flitted from the bookshelf to a bulletin board - but that detail hasnt been added. Yet.
