The Beaumont law firm of Lindsay & Morgan P.L.L.C. recently announced the establishment of the Lisa Renee Ligda Beaulieu Scholarship. The Lamar University scholarship will be available to students majoring in criminal justice.
Beaumont patrol officer Lisa Beaulieu, died April 27, 2007. She is the first female officer to be killed in the line of duty in department history. Beaulieu was struck by a passing car while assisting with traffic control at the scene of a major accident on Eastex Freeway.
We are so proud and pleased to be able to attach Officer Beaulieus name to this criminal justice scholarship, said Stephen Doblin, Lamar University provost and vice president for academic affairs. Through this gift, her name and the memory of her commitment to duty and Beaumont will live on in perpetuity through the students who take advantage of this scholarship.
