Daisy Gracia of Brownsville, a May 2007 graduate of The University of Texas-Pan American, was recently awarded a $5,000 Texas Medical Association Minority Scholarship. Gracia, who majored in biology and double minored in chemistry and Spanish, was one of eight students chosen to receive the scholarship from the Texas Medical Association (TMA).

Recipients were chosen based on their demonstrated community service, health care experience, and academic standings. While at UTPA, she participated in the UTPA Baylor Premedical Honors College Program and graduated Summa Cum Laude.
