The Hartland Area Chamber of Commerce presented a $1,000 scholarship to Hartland High School senior Jennifer Pittel earlier this month. This is the 16th consecutive year the chamber has awarded the scholarship.
In selecting the winner of the Hartland Area Chamber Scholarship, the chamber looks for a high school senior who demonstrates leadership, has been a good student throughout his or her academic career, and who places a value on community service and personal growth, said Sharon Sutis, president of the HACC. Jennifer was particularly outstanding in all of these areas.
Pittel has been on the honor roll throughout elementary and middle school, has achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher all four years of high school, and was a member of the national honor society.
