JMI receives youth delegation
A 12-member youth delegation from Saudi Arabia visited the Jamia Millia Islamia in Delhi. Comprising medical students, engineers and teachers, the youth delegation is in India as part of an exchange programme of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs. The delegation is headed by Saad Abdul Aziz al-Rasheed, Head, General Services Department of the Presidency of Youth Affairs, Saudi Arabia. The delegation first visited the AJK Mass Communication Research Centre where they interacted with staff and students and were taken on a round of the studios and other technical facilities. Later, they met the Coordinator and student volunteers from the National Service Scheme (Jamia Unit). The Coordinator of the NSS for Jamia, Prof. A. S. Kohli, hosted the Saudis for an informal get-together over tea. Later, the Saudis planted eight saplings as part of the tree plantation drive initiated by the NSS on the Jamia campus.
