A farewell reception for Caddo schools Superintendent Ollie Tyler produced bittersweet moments for those who attended and a scholarship for upcoming students Friday afternoon.
The Ollie S. Tyler scholarship fund was established by the school system as a tribute to the superintendent, who is retiring from the district July 31 to become deputy superintendent of the state Education Department.
The scholarship will be endowed at the college of Tyler’s choice and will be awarded to a senior from a Caddo high school.
