NGO helps slum kids avail education

Parya Vanjhara’s father is a construction labourer who struggles to get ends meet — having seven to feed.

Yet, Parya, 8, goes to a private school in the city. Despite the fact that neither of her parents or elder siblings have never even sat in a classroom.

There is a growing tribe of street urchins who are getting enrolled into public schools, not because their parents have suddenly turned wealthy but because Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad students have come to their aid.
