For the third consecutive year, a CMU School of Broadcast and Cinematic Arts student has been selected to receive a competitive national scholarship from The John Bayliss Broadcast Foundation.
Senior Kristine Moore of Owosso is among 14 undergraduate and graduate students nationwide to receive a $5,000 Bayliss Radio Scholarship. Moore managed WMHW-FM 91.5, CMU’s student-run radio station, during the 2006-2007 academic year and then completed an eight-week Bayliss Radio Intern Program internship during summer 2007 at Detroit-based Greater Media.
We are very pleased that The Bayliss Foundation has recognized Kristine’s commitment to radio with this scholarship, said Peter Orlik, director of CMU’s School of Broadcast and Cinematic Arts. She has already accomplished a great deal as a student manager and will play an important part in the changing role of radio.
