Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) Distance Learning at Trident Training Facility (TTF), Naval Base (NB) Kitsap, Bangor, announced on July 30 the upcoming schedule for the Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree program for nuclear trained officers.
The NPS distance learning program places an emphasis on mechanical engineering as it applies to surface vessels, submarines and spacecraft.
The course is designed for officers who have successfully graduated the Navy Nuclear Power School curriculum and requires a favorable command endorsement, said Dr. Robert Cobb, TTF Distance Learning project manager. Students will gain an understanding of the role engineering and technology has in the military environment, especially in the war zone.
