Max Weber fellowships
Funded by the European Commission, the Max Weber fellowship is the largest postdoctoral programme in the social sciences in Europe. Fellows have the opportunity to work in close cooperation with the departments of the European University Institute (EUI) and/or the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (RSCAS).The fellowships are awarded for 12 or 24 months (period will be indicated in the award letter; extensions or renewals are not possible). Fellows are required to reside in Florence for the duration of their fellowship. The basic stipend is 2000 Euros per month.
Requirements: Candidates of all nationalities; fellows should have a good knowledge of English, the working language of the programme, and any other language relevant to their proposed research; candidates who have recently received their doctorates in economics,social and political sciences, law or history and who wish to pursue a career nationally or internationally as academics. The fellowships are open to candidates whose PhD thesis has been officially submitted and accepted for its final defence at the time of the start of the programme (September 1). The PhD should be completed between September 1,2003 and September 1,2008,or officially submitted by September 1,2008.
