It was all joy recently, when Foursquare Gospel Church, Akowonjo chapter, took time off its spiritual schedule to perform a corporate social responsibility. At the grand finale of annual revival tagged REST programme, held at the church auditorium, no fewer than five students smiled home with N20,000, in scholarship grants. REST programme means Restoration and Enlargement through Supernatural Touch.’
For the beneficiaries of the grant, the first of what is to be a yearly event, it was a great relief. They were all undergraduate students of various universities, who won the scholarship after passing through screening exercises and series of interviews conducted by the church authorities.
The five lucky winners were Oluwaseun Ijaola, a 200 level student of Chemical Engineering at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomos Rufus Oladapo, 100 hundred level student of Mathematics of the same institution and Faith Aigbedion, a 200 level Banking and Finance student of the University of Benin.
