Invited for a PURS research fellowship in South Asian Studies by the programme in South Asian Studies at Princeton University

Research Fellowships
Applications are invited for a Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies (PURS) research fellowship in South Asian Studies by the programme in South Asian Studies at Princeton University. One fellow will be appointed for the spring 2008 semester (February 1- June 30, 2008) during which he or she will be expected to teach one course and to participate in South Asian-related academic activities on campus. The one semester salary will be between $24000 and $34750, depending on qualifications and experience. Also included are university health plans; upto $1800 for the cost of economy class, round-trip travel from place of permanent residence; and a modest research fund.

Requirements; Scholars in all disciplines in the social sciences and humanities, with preference to the fields of economics and political science. A doctoral degree is required, though exceptions may be made for persons with exceptional experience, achievement, and eminence in their fields.

To apply: Submit (1) letter of application describing candidate’s suitability; (2) CV with a list of publications; (3) sample of written work; (4) teaching portfolio containing a statement of teaching experience and a syllabus; (5) three letters of recommendation to be sent directly to the programme.
