IT SEEMS that the recent visit of the Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, to Kolkata, has started bearing fruits for the city as well as the country. The three premier institutions of the country, IIM-Calcutta along with IIT-Chennai and IIT-Kanpur has come up with a post-graduate programme on executive management with help of the Japan government.
The post-graduate Programme for Executives for Visionary Leadership in Manufacturing (PGPEX-VLMP) was launched on Monday at IIM-Calcutta.
The one-year programme will involve the support of Japan government and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Noro Motoyoshi, the Consul-General of Japan in Kolkata and Shoji Shiba, Principal Advisor of JICA, were also present at IIM-Calcutta for the launch of the programme.
