The Eastern Illinois University (EIU) Debbie Kroening Hudgins Scholarship award has been presented to Holly R. Hooe of Iuka, a senior student with a major in communications (corporate option).
Hooe is the daughter of Michael and Carla Hooe of Iuka, and a 2004 Salem Community High School graduate.
The award, established by friends and family of Debbie Kroening Hudgins, is administered through the Eastern Illinois University Foundation and presented to a full-time student accepted to EIU with an overall GPA of 2.5. The recipient must be an Eastern Swim Team member and display some of the qualities that Debbie Kroening Hudgins exhibited - being a team leader, leading by example, putting the team first, and displaying enthusiasm for the sport.
