Dance scholarship awarded

Filed under:

The Summit School of Dance, which provides children of Summit County with dance lessons, has announced the first annual Lorraine Cook Dance Scholarship. Cook was the mother of local Lise Pellerin and a longtime dance enthusiast. The scholarship fund has been set up in her memory, and is to benefit children whose families may struggle with the cost of providing dance lessons. The scholarship will cover the cost of registration, two lessons per week for the entire 2007-2008 season and costumes for the annual spring recital.

Applicants should be at least 3 years of age, and have a strong desire to dance. To apply, send your name address, phone number, age and styles of dance that interest you ( preschool/creative movement, ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, modern or musical theater). Provide a letter of recommendation from an adult outside of your immediate family. Submit either in person to the Summit School of Dance at 400 Granite St. in Frisco, through the mail at PO Box 1015, Frisco CO
