Microsoft Fellowship
For each academic year, Microsoft Research India will award five PhD fellowship awards, maximum of one per institution. Each award will amount to $25000 to be disbursed over a period of four years (that is, the equivalent of approximately $5000 per year for tuitions, books, stipends, and/or any other expenses, plus the equivalent of an additional $5000 for travel to conferences and seminars during the term of the fellowship). In addition, the fellow will have the option of a three to six month internship at Microsoft Research India; the terms of which will be decided at the discretion of Microsoft Research India. Microsoft sends payment directly to your university and your university will disperse funds according to their guidelines.
Requirements: Applicant must be nominated by an eligible university or a Microsoft researcher. Nominations for the Microsoft Research India PhD fellowships are invited from select schools in India from the mathematics, computer science/engineering, and electrical engineering departments at your university (a maximum of two nominations per department).
To apply: You should apply through the computer science, electrical engineering, or mathematics department at your school
