Visiting fellowships
Charles Wallace India Trust Visiting Fellowships are to enable Indian academics, writers and translators to spend time in selected universities for up to three months. Eight fellowships have been agreed with universities. The fellowships cover international fares and accommodation and living costs in the UK. These are: Writer fellowship at University of Kent, Department of English, three months, writer fellowship at University of Stirling, Centre of Commonwealth Studies, three months, translator fellowships, British Centre for Literary Translation, University of East Anglia, Generally two awarded, both for January to March (two months), Iqbal Sarin visiting fellowship in Journalism gives a chance for a journalist to do a piece of supervised research on an agreed aspect of the media. Three months at Cardiff School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies
Requirements: Indian citizens, domiciled and resident-aged between 25 and 45 years; completed their postgraduate in the area of their specialisation and/or have between five to seven years professional experience and not have been given a Charles Wallace India Trust grant within the previous five years
To apply: Include a proposal stating clearly what you want to work on in the host institution and how you plan to use the experience on return to India. Applications through the nearest British Council office.
Submission: October 31,2007.
