India Habitat Centre and National Geographic Channel are calling undergraduate students to participate in the fifth annual Habitat Young Visionary Award 2008. The competition is an initiative that encourages the youth to think again about the world they live in and initiate change. Applicants have to submit a 1,500-word essay in English or Hindi on a specified topic in the first stage. The given topic is My Journey To The Parliament Through The Classroom or Men Jivan Yatra Mahavidyalaya Se Sansad Ke Ore (in Hindi). Based on the essay, 15 participants will be short listed for the semifinals and would be required to defend their vision before a panel of judges. Out of these, five will be chosen for the finale slated for January 2008. The deadline for sending entries is November 15, 2007.
