ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN/ AVFUEL INDUSTRY NEWS/ AVTRIP, the refueling incentive awards program for pilots, has chosen the latest recipient of its annual AVTRIP Scholarship. The winner of the 2007 Award, Timothy Ritter, lives in Toledo, Ohio, and was thrilled to learn of his award. In addition to the $2000.00 that will be applied to furthering his aviation education, Ritter received 50,000 Bonus AVTRIP Points.
Ritters application for the Avfuel AVTRIP Scholarship caught the eye of Avfuel with its enthusiasm and humility. Ritter believes in sharing the benefits of his pilot experience and education to other potential pilots, and acts as a mentor whenever he can. It is Avfuels passion to support the growth of the general and commercial aviation industries by encouraging dedicated pilots like Ritter to achieve success and constant advancement.
With a shrinking aviation population and fleet due to increased costs of taxes, liability, user fees and security, it is important to grow the ranks of general aviation pilots, says Ritter. I like to encourage people to learn how to fly. Indeed, Ritter developed what would turn out to be a life-long fascination with learning to fly at a very young age.
