Ten outstanding further education and skills providers from across England will form the Technology Exemplar Network, designed to help colleges and other learning providers use technology more effectively.
The Technology Exemplar Network, which is jointly led by government technology partner Becta and the Learning and Skills Council (LSC), will work to share best practice for using technology between different learning providers across the country.
Further education colleges, work-based learning providers and adult and community learning providers are eligible to participate in the programme. £3.9 million is being made available to support the first phase of the programme
Outputs and results, including case studies of participating providers, will be available via the QIA Excellence Gateway
The exemplars announced yesterday will receive funding to help develop their use of technology and share their successes with others.
Bill Rammell MP, Minister for Lifelong Learning, Further and Higher Education, announced the exemplars at an event in London today. Mr Rammell said:
