Comp-graduates park non-councilMumbai: Ankit Gupta, a computer engineer from IIT Bombay, is the newest member of a consultancy firm as a Business Analyst. Park scholarship extends to rising juniors The Park Scholar program will grant three additional scholarships annually to students enrolled in the Roy H. Park School of Communications, according to Matthew Fee, director of the Park Scholar program. Fee said adding students to the program reflects the changing rationale of the program. The Butternut School Board unanimously adopted a resolution Monday, June 18, to consider consolidation with the Park Falls School District, opening the way for consolidation of the two districts by the start of the 2008-09 school year if the Park Falls School Board adopts a similar resolution before June 30. City-based Maveric Systems Ltd (MSL), an independent software testing company, will set up a 40-member research centre in the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras (IIT-M) Research Park, a top official said here Wednesday. ‘The company has set a goal of generating around 30 percent revenue from intellectual property (IP)-based services by 2012. The alliance with IIT-M Research Park will enable us to achieve that goal,’ MSL executive director V.N. Mahesh told reporters. The All India Council for Technical Education is thinking in terms of letting engineering colleges in each region to form clusters. One of the colleges could then be designated as a nodal institution. The cluster colleges could invest money and send expert faculty to the nodal centre to train fresh teachers. The Mumbai universitys apex body, the Management Council (MC), has decided to make graduates eligible for pursuing PhDs from this academic year 2005-06. The only criterion for these candidates is that they would have to clear an aptitude test conducted by the university department or research centre from where they want to pursue the PhD. According to the PhD guidelines,framed by former university chancellor and governor Mohammed Fazal,last year,only a post-graduate with minimum 60% marks could opt for research and the graduates were not eligible to pursue it at all.
