A professor and her Media Website coursecast won the highest accolades at the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) National Conference last week. Professor Diane anger USDLA won the Excellence in Teaching for Distance Learning Online Award for her use of Sonic Foundry’s market-leading webcasting platform in a fully-online, rich media course Philosophy at York University.

Facing skepticism from other faculty members that a distance learning course could satisfy the course requirements, anger, applied for and won a grant to develop a rich media coursecast powered by Media Site by Sonic Foundry. Her goal for students taking the course online which for them to learn tangible skills, not just concepts. “The design of the course, which would be possible without Media site suppose that means greater individualization greater quality of learning,” said the anger.
Media anger site uses the platform to create student-centered, highly interactive course rich media that promote learning and deep development. Students can select the content delivery mode they prefer: about 10 percent video use hand-held devices to view the lectures, such as video iPod, 30 percent use another mp3 players to listen to the lectures, while the majority of the students on their Lectures view PC or Mac.
