The expulsion of three students, including two belonging to the Scheduled Caste community, by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Delhi for under performance has been revoked.
The decision was taken on Thursday after a meeting of the IIT’s review committee which looked into a complaint with regard to the expulsion.
“The committee took a lenient view because of the special circumstances,” a senior IIT official said.
The premier institute had expelled 20 students, including 12 from SC and ST communities, citing unsatisfactory performance in June first week.
