Tolani Maritime Institute & Birla Institute of Technology and Science (TMI BITS) conducts an all india entrance examination for admission to various B.S courses in maritime studies. Tolani Maritime Institute is situated in pune conducts this examination in collaboration with Birla Institute of Technology and Science. Eligibility criteria of TMI BITS
1. The candidate appearing for the examination must have cleared the class 12th examination with atleast 50% marks in PCM.
2. The candidate must also have studied English as a main subject in class 11th and 12th and must also have scored more than 50% in both the years.

Selection procedure of TMI BITS
1. The foremost step in to clear the online admission test the syllabus and pattern of which is given above.
2. The selected candidates are then subjected to personal interview round and are interviewed for their communication skills, clarity of thought, potential leadership traits, and reasoning abilities.
3. The candidates who clear the PI round then undergo a medical test and the candidates declared physically and mentally for the course are selected and granted admissions.

1. The examination is online.
2. The exam will contains MCQs.
3. It will have questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, Logic and analytical problem solving.
Proposed important dates for TMI BITS
1. Till march end 2009 – first date of submitting the completed application forms.
2. Last week of april 2009 – date of online test for the candidates who submitted their applications in the month of march.
3. April to mid june – second chance of submitting the completed application forms.
4. First week of july – second date of online test.
5. Mid july – medical examination of the selected candidates.
