Introduction
UPCAT-DENTAL or Uttar Pradesh Common Admission Test is an examination conducted each for admission to the seats against the management quota in the various private medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh. The examination is conducted to ensure that the seats against the management quota are also filled according to the merit of the students.
Important dates of UPCAT-DENTAL
1. April 2009 – application forms are available.
2. May 2009 – deadline for submission of completed application form.
3. Last week of may 2009 – date of common entrance test.
4. Mid of june 2009 – declaration of result.
5. Third week of july 2009 – counseling for admission.
Eligibility criteria for UPCAT-DENTAL
1. The minimum age of the candidate is 17 years.
2. The candidate must also have scored a minimum of 50% marks in the class 12th examination with PCB and English as main subjects.
3. The candidates belonging to the SC/ST categories are required to have only 40% in English.
4. Candidates belonging to any part of india can apply for the examination and even the candidates from outside india can also apply.
Examination pattern and syllabus
1. Duration of examination – 3 hours
2. Total number of questions – 200 MCQs
3. 50 question each of physics, chemistry, botany and zoology.
4. +1 for correct answer and there will be no negative marking
5. The syllabus of examination is the course as per the class 12th examination
