IIIT PGEE 2009 International Institute of Information Technology - Post Graduate Entrance Examinations
IIIT PGEE stands for International Institute of Information Technology - Post Graduate Entrance Examinations and the institute select the candidates for the admission to the post graduate courses on the basis of merit in the entrance test. The institute also provides admission to the undergraduate courses but the admission to UD courses depends upon the performance of the candidate in the AIEEE examination.
Important dates:
1. Dec 2008 – availability of application forms.
2. First week of jan 2009 – deadline for submission of application forms.
3. Mid feb 2009 – entrance examination.
4. June 2009 – interviews of the shortlisted candidates.
5. July 2009 – commencement of classes.
Eligibility criteria:
1. The candidate appearing for M.Tech programs must have BE/ B.Tech/B.Arch./ MCA or master degree in Science/ Maths/ Programming/ Computer Science.
2. The candidates appearing for MS must meet the requirements for M.Tech or he should have a M.Tech degree.
3. The candidate appearing for Post B.Sc. Dual Degree course must have B.Tech or B.Sc degree.
4. For admission to Computational Linguistics the candidate must have done either of M.Phil/ Ph.D or M.A.
Examination pattern and schedule:
1. The examination is conducted in two parts, each of 2 hours duration.
2. Paper 1 is general aptitude test and will have MCQs to test your aptitude, logical reasoning, basic computers and mathematics.
3. Paper 2 is subjective and the candidate can opt for any of the following subjects to be asked in the entrance examination:

1. Computational Linguistics
2. Post B.Sc. Dual Degree
3. M.Tech in Computer Science, Computer Science & Information Security, VLSI and Embedded Systems, Bio-informatics, Computer Aided Structural Engineering, Computational Linguistics
4. MS/Ph.D in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computational Natural Sciences, Power Systems, Building Science and all the above M.Tech courses.
