APPLE IS inviting the growing Indian community of software students and professionals , skilled in its Mac operating system, to exchange ideas with peers, at the biggest annual get together of its hardcore users the World Wide Developer Conference being held in San Francisco between June 6 and 10.
During a tele-conference from its U.S. headquarters with select members of the international technical media, Apples Vice-President for Product Management and Marketing, Ron Okamoto, told Education Plus that Indian developers were particularly welcome, since some of the most innovative work in animation, graphics, gaming and multimedia was being done here. And the Mac had emerged as the preferred platform for such product development.
The conference would also provide delegates with the first opportunity to get a hands-on feel of the next Version 10.4 `Tiger of the MacOS operating system , as well as tools like Spotlight, Dashboard, Core Image and Core Video.
In recent years, every new Apple PC from the iMac to the G4 and G5 Macs have broken the mould with startlingly innovative design. The company had recently launched its first budget PC the Mini Mac and a lot of development is expected to centre around creating compelling applications for new users around this.
