Launch Of The United Nations Decade Of Education For Sustainable Development

UNESCO Director General Koïchiro Matsuura will launch the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (2005-2014) at UN headquarters in New York on March 1. The Decade encourages countries to integrate the concept of sustainable development into their education policies and into all aspects of learning. The aim is to bring about behavioural changes that will usher in a more viable and just society.
