Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) will issue a black paper to highlight alleged attempts of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government to communalise, commercialise and de-Indianise education.
Addressing a press conference, ABVP national general secretary K N Raghunandan said ABVP cadres would work towards building an extensive agitation against the undesirable changes being introduced in school and college education.
He further warned the UPA Government not to allow education to be brought under the purview of World Trade Organisation (WTO) and said the manner in which the Government compromised with interests of the country in the previous WTO meeting, apprehensions of it bending again in the WTO meeting in December have risen. If that happens, education would be reduced to a commodity of international trade, he said.
Raghunandan further said ABVP would organise a Vande Matram campaign from August 7 to 15 and said his outfit felt that rendition of the national song could be an important tool to awaken patriotic sentiments among the youth.
