If such is the case, why not cash on it? A choice of career in beauty care could be quite rewarding. Some of the prominent institutions imparting training in beauty, hair care and personal grooming include Shahnaz Hussains Womens World International, Habibs Hair Academy, Blossom Kochhars Pivot Point, Meyhar Bhasin Academy, South Delhi Polytechnic for Women and VLCC. These institutes offer both short and long term courses and the fee structure varies from Rs 4,000 to Rs 15,000 depending on the course.
Students completing a course in beauty and hair care can work in a salon or beauty parlour. Working at a health club or fitness centre is also a related career option.
Students joining our course every year is increasing. Interestingly, men are showing great interest these days. One can be sure of a great career ahead on finishing the training, says Blossom Kocchar, educational director, Pivot Point. Self-employment is an attractive option but it should be considered after some years of experience.
Work in the field of beauty and hair care involves several areas. Beauty therapy extends from treatment of skin, nails, body, and covers make-up and facials, massage and to diet.
It includes advising clients on grooming and make-up or treating skin complaints not requiring medical treatment.
