Islamabad: Pakistan Supreme Court has issued a ruling which bars the students passing out of madrassas from holding public offices since the unregistered madrassas do not teach a curriculum suitable to prepare the students for the mainstream life.
In a detailed judgement the court held that a sanad or certificate issued by these madrassas cant be considered equivalent to Matriculation certificate unless an equivalence certificate has been obtained from the Inter Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC).
The IBCC issues equivalence certificates if a candidate has passed additional examination of English, Urdu and Pakistan studies at SSC or HSSC level from AIOU /Boards of Pakistan.
