The Global Open Food and Agriculture University (GOFAR) of the US has signed an agreement with India`s Indira Gandhi National Open University to offer its expertise in the field of agriculture.
GOFAR, a part of the Washington-based International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), has plans to cooperate with Indian agriculture universities, including Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, IFPRI programme leader Suresh Babu told reporters.
We want to offer our help in postgraduate courses for certain frontier areas like agro-ecology and agri-business management, Babu said.
Similar agreements are being planned with Maharashtra Open University and Kerala Agricultural University, he said.
