The West Bengal Government gave its final nod to the proposal to upgrade the Bengal Engineering and Science University and the Jadavpur University to the stauts of IITs.
The MHRD had recently identified 7 institutes for up gradation to the status of IITs and West Bengal was the luckiest to have two of them. The VCs of Bengal Engineering and Science University and the Jadavpur University received the formal green signal from the West Bengal higher education minister on Wednesday
