Class X board exam optional Govt. rejects the idea

The Government rejected the proposal to make class X board exam optional after discussions on The National Curriculum Framework Draft 2005 with CABE and heads of states.

For making education less stressful the creation of two levels of difficulty in maths and science in all classes up to class X was suggested. The more difficult A level exam would be for those students who intend to continue with the same subject post class X. Besides this the Education department wants to emphasis more on English
