National Council Of Education Research and Training (NCERT) has decided to prescribe new course for students every 5 years. A concept paper on the role of the NCERT in 2020 circulated among teachers recommends that the NCERT opt for participatory education rather than a system which emphasis on individuals.
Another change being considered is the use of e-books. The impact of teaching on the students and the type of textbooks needed to keep pace with the global changes are the other areas, which the paper highlighted for more attention and research.
