MBA with B.Tech at IITs now

Six out of every Ten students in a management school is from engineering background, therefore, for engineering schools to factor this in by introducing programmes that produce engineers with a degree in management. 2 IITs Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSOM) at IIT Kharagpur and Shailesh Mehta School of Management (SJMSOM) at IIT Mumbai have thought of such management schools.VGSOM has already launched its B-school offering dual degree in B.Tech combined with an MBA and SJMSOM would be launching a similar programme in 2007.

Aspirants to a dual degree have to clear the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) .The five-year programme will integrate both streams concurrently. The first two years will focus on engineering, third and fourth years will emphasise on engineering along with the management and in the fifth year the focus would only be on management
