Education and employment reservation sought for minorities

Minority leaders here had a meeting on Saturday and demanded seven percent reservation each, for Christians and Muslims, in education and employment.

Though Christians formed 6.1 percent of the States population and Muslims 5.6 percent, their reservation in Government departments was marginal, the leaders said. A resolution adopted by the meeting demanded that the state government should provide seven percent reservation on the lines of the quota system in Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
